Bored With Losing

Since my Dolphins didn’t make the playoffs again my only joy for the post season is rooting against the Patriots. I love watching them lose to the Giants in the Super Bowl but since the Giants didn’t make it this year my hope was that they would lose BEFORE they made the playoffs. I have been out of town for a few weeks so I didn’t have too much time to watch football, but I did get a chance to watch the Patriots choke against the Ravens.

Keep in mind I am not a Ravens fan and I hope they get killed in the Super Bowl but I did get to root for Ray Lewis and company for one day. I was in Vegas for the weekend and on Sunday I had to check out of my really nice hotel and check into the Circus Circus to get some work done. It’s not exactly a party casino so I was able to do work cheaply and without distraction. I was getting a ton of work done until I realized the Pats/Ravens game was on. I turned on the TV and saw that the Ravens were down headed in to half time.

I watched the whole second half of the game and it was the greatest thing I have ever seen. Tom Brady blew it and threw two pics and made some horrible throws and the Ravens scored 28 unanswered points to embarrass all of New England. It was a beautiful site. I realize this sounds petty, especially since the Dolphins didn’t even make the playoffs, but when your team is as bad as the Dolphins are all you have left is to root against the Patriots and the Jets… and this was a beautiful year for that.

That being said, 2013 looks like it could be a great year for the Dolphins and we can just hope that we will be rooting FOR someone in the playoffs instead of just against the Pats. Go Dolphins!

Think Tyler Thigpen can lead us to victory? I have seen stranger things in the NFL… I guess we will see on Thursday.

I haven’t updated much since I started working over on Dolfans NYC but this video was too good to pass up. Check out the Mini Movie of the Phins putting a hurt on the Vikings.  Hopefully Sunday goes just as well against the Jests.

Ahh.. The off season… Can football start soon enough?

One more little post about online sports betting. It’s the off season, so why not? The Dolphins are 40-1 underdogs to win the Super Bowl next year.  Not really sure they have a shot at it but when the NFL betting odds are so good, you might as well take a chance? If nothing else it gives you another reason to root for the Phins.

Anyway, after this things should be a little bit slow around here, although I will probably post more during the combine and the draft.  If you want more, I should be updating DolfansNYC more often.  See you guys soon.

The Superbowl is quickly approaching and if you haven’t noticed the Dolphins aren’t in it again.  Thank god the Jets didn’t make it because while the Jets have been terrible forever, the Dolphins haven’t made the Super Bowl in 25 years.  It’s pretty sad when you look at it.

Fortunately if nothing else we can bet on the game. During the Dolfans NYC events there are a crew of guys who bet on everything from the score in the third quarter to what color of underwear the bartender is wearing.  I am not a huge gambler, although I won some money in Vegas a few weeks ago, but the one time I do place a bet or two is during the Super Bowl. I just checked the Super Bowl odds and they are giving the Saints 5, but I am sure I can find someone to bet me straight up. I have a few big Saints fans in my life that will take the action. Then again, I haven’t had the best record… I am still trying to get over the money I lost when the Bucs beat the Raiders.

 Hey! The Jets game was amazing. I went to it with the DolfansNYC crew. It is a Dolphins fan club I helped found. There will be pictures and stuff, so check it out. True, we don’t have another Monday Night Football game this year, but I needed to post this SNL Landshark parody.  Evidently the Dolphins are doing their best to bring TD viral.  It’s not working that well as this video has under 1500 views, but it is pretty great anyway.

What a game! I just hope that this is no fluke. Imagine the Dolphins having a great quarterback for the next 10 years. That would be epic.

I have watched the highlights from yesterday’s Bills vs. Dolphins highlights over and over again. It is so good to finally get a win.  I just wish we didn’t have to wait so long.  If we get one next week, we will be looking at respectability at the bye week.
